AB OBJECTIVE: To induce, create & sustain community consciousness against

testing STD & HIV infections. 1000 people were evaluated at random
across the community of 46000 population through interview based on a
standard questionnaire. RESULTS: There is an improvement in the AIDS
awareness among women (67% in 1994 as against 28% in '93) and insistance
on condom use by their partners (32% of 14%). 91% brings disposable
needles and 73% brings disposable gloves for internal examination (PV).
Over 1000 husbands visisted the evening clinic for confidential
counselling and testing in this year. CONCLUSION: To spread the message
against AIDS in the prevention of HIV infection community can be reached
through Family Planning clinics much effectively. Separate slot (evening
